Filming Decisions

 Today it was decided that I will be filming the short film scenes. Being the director I have to consider everything about the film ahead of time. I only have one person interested in acting in the short film. So in order for the scenes to be recorded I will also become an actor as well. Recording the scenes will have to be the job of me and the actor. We will have to alternate filming one another based on some of the scenes. Some scenes however require both the actor and I to appear in the scenes so I will have to find someone to film some parts. In addition to filming the scenes I will also have to voice record some lines which are only the thoughts of the character. You may ask, will this be a difficult task? Of course I think it will be a bit difficult but I believe I can get through the filming process easily. This week we will begin filming, although the weather has been unpredictable lately. Continuously raining and temperatures are dropping and rising consistently throughout the day. My filming schedule may be affected but I have some time before I have to finish the film.

I started the opening of the play with a gradual opening to create a bit of suspense but, also to give the audience some time to get ready. The added track shot also adds a feel of the audience being their walking with jack, it's overall more intimate. Then after the track shot, there is a fast shot of the play and or movie getting straight to the point. (starting the show) The black screen transition is untimely to show the audience that one scene has ended and that was moving on to something else. This helps with older audience viewers as well guiding them to the next scene. The close-up shots added also add drama with it being a shot that happens out of nowhere. Also, the back and forth shots of jack's pacing add suspense as well to over exaggerate the feeling that's taking place.                                                  Research Blog: Soft (2007)               Soft (2007) is a tense short film drama directed by Simon Ellis. The film is fifteen minutes long and depicts the terrorizing of a father and son by neighborhood teens. Throughout the film we see the emotions of the characters. The father remains visibly scared of the young teens but the son remains angry. The director uses close ups to give the audience a better understanding of the characters emotions. The conflict of the film is that while they are being terrorized the father doesn’t want to retaliate because of his fear and tries to keep the son from doing anything. Planning for my Spalding Basketball commercial

                                                           Planning Blog  Props   There won't really be too much if any props in the commercial. Costumes   In the commercial, the actor(s) will have on appropriate gym clothes. He will wear athletic gym shorts, with a tank top that is playable in. Basketball shoes would have to be mandatory, for grip on the court and best performance. The actor may wear compression tights, depending on the conditions.
