Intro Blog

    Welcome to my Intro Blog for AICE Media Studies. My name's Erickson Sanon, and I'm in the 11th grade. I've been going to Fort Lauderdale High since I was a freshman, coming out of the eighth grade. I came to Fort Lauderdale specifically for the Cambridge program. Being able to get a scholarship and go to college would make my parents proud. They didn't have the chance to do the same in Haiti. If you ask anyone about me, they'd say I'm a nice , intelligent and funny kid. I don't like to ruffle any feathers either. I'm an athletic kid who, when not playing football, is doing his best in his academics. Although, the pandemic has made things difficult for most of the year for me with virtual learning as the new normal, and the cancellation of spring sports last year. When it came to choosing our courses for the 2020-2021 school year I chose AICE media studies because I was interested in the course. I've always had an interest in filming and photography, so the class's reputation highly peaked my interest when hearing it from other students. Due to the conditions with how the school year started, I didn't receive a camera for the class, but receiving a camera had to be one of the most important reasons I chose the course. For this school year I'm trying my best in learning the procedures in editing videos and camera angle. It has been pretty interesting and fun for the year. I'm currently looking forward to the rest of the year. Hopefully nothing is impacted like it was at the end of last year. Looking forward to making more blogs for the future. Thank you for reading. Planning: Storyboard

I started the opening of the play with a gradual opening to create a bit of suspense but, also to give the audience some time to get ready. The added track shot also adds a feel of the audience being their walking with jack, it's overall more intimate. Then after the track shot, there is a fast shot of the play and or movie getting straight to the point. (starting the show) The black screen transition is untimely to show the audience that one scene has ended and that was moving on to something else. This helps with older audience viewers as well guiding them to the next scene. The close-up shots added also add drama with it being a shot that happens out of nowhere. Also, the back and forth shots of jack's pacing add suspense as well to over exaggerate the feeling that's taking place. Research Blog: Soft (2007)

                                                 Research Blog: Soft (2007)               Soft (2007) is a tense short film drama directed by Simon Ellis. The film is fifteen minutes long and depicts the terrorizing of a father and son by neighborhood teens. Throughout the film we see the emotions of the characters. The father remains visibly scared of the young teens but the son remains angry. The director uses close ups to give the audience a better understanding of the characters emotions. The conflict of the film is that while they are being terrorized the father doesn’t want to retaliate because of his fear and tries to keep the son from doing anything. Planning for my Spalding Basketball commercial

                                                           Planning Blog  Props   There won't really be too much if any props in the commercial. Costumes   In the commercial, the actor(s) will have on appropriate gym clothes. He will wear athletic gym shorts, with a tank top that is playable in. Basketball shoes would have to be mandatory, for grip on the court and best performance. The actor may wear compression tights, depending on the conditions.
