Title research: The Breakfast Club

                                     Title Research: The Breakfast Club

- What titles are displayed during the opening sequences?

The only titles displayed in the opening sequence are credits. The names of producers, the director, actors and actresses, along with the distribution company name.

 - What images are prioritized in the opening sequence?

A quote from singer, David Bowie, "...And these children that you spit on as they try to change their worlds are immune to your consultations. They're quite aware of what they're going through..."

 - What connotations do these images carry?

The word, "immune" is a connotation in the image. It's not used in reference to health rather to other people's opinion.

 - How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset?

While the title sequence goes on, the music that goes along with it gives an upbeat feeling to the film. Also the crashing glass already gives the rebellious feeling the movie then has.

- What strategies are used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience?

With the target audience being teenagers, the film's opening sequence is upbeat. The sound of drumming being the first thig you hear, and crashing glass after. The audience best responds to these signs of rebellon.

- How has technology been used effectively? You want to consider camera angles, transitions and editing techniques.

The music, is a non-diegetic sound, meaning it had to be added in post production. The sound of crashing glass also. The dissolve edit was used consecutively with each credit disappearing after another.
