Because of an unexpected change in schedule this blog won’t be about editing as planned. Still have some filming to do that’ll take place this weekend. In the meantime however, I have begun researching music that I believe will be compatible with my opening sequence. The music is going to begin when the transition between scenes begin between the two characters. I want a upbeat transitory vibe to set the tone going on. I watched some movies that begin the same way as my opening sequence as a reference. I did this because the music in an opening sequence sets the tone for the whole film. In The Breakfast Club the sound of those drums and upbeat rock let you know how the movie was going to be a raunchy rebellious film. Not only does the music set the tone, it should also intrigue your audience. Choosing two songs to fit perfectly is harder than I thought, nothing seems to be perfect. That may be my fault I try to be a perfectionist and do the best I can. Taking a census is probably the answer. Reaching my intended audience age demographic is the goal of the music, so that is the best option. Hopefully I can make a decision before the weekend. All my attention should be on filming at that time. This is probably what producing companies go through with these decisions. This is only an opening sequence and I’m having this much difficulty, makes me respect production companies more. Below you can see how the research for my first song of the opening sequence is going. A wide variety of songs to choose from as you can see. I will make a decision soon hopefully.

I started the opening of the play with a gradual opening to create a bit of suspense but, also to give the audience some time to get ready. The added track shot also adds a feel of the audience being their walking with jack, it's overall more intimate. Then after the track shot, there is a fast shot of the play and or movie getting straight to the point. (starting the show) The black screen transition is untimely to show the audience that one scene has ended and that was moving on to something else. This helps with older audience viewers as well guiding them to the next scene. The close-up shots added also add drama with it being a shot that happens out of nowhere. Also, the back and forth shots of jack's pacing add suspense as well to over exaggerate the feeling that's taking place. Research Blog: Soft (2007)

                                                 Research Blog: Soft (2007)               Soft (2007) is a tense short film drama directed by Simon Ellis. The film is fifteen minutes long and depicts the terrorizing of a father and son by neighborhood teens. Throughout the film we see the emotions of the characters. The father remains visibly scared of the young teens but the son remains angry. The director uses close ups to give the audience a better understanding of the characters emotions. The conflict of the film is that while they are being terrorized the father doesn’t want to retaliate because of his fear and tries to keep the son from doing anything. Planning for my Spalding Basketball commercial

                                                           Planning Blog  Props   There won't really be too much if any props in the commercial. Costumes   In the commercial, the actor(s) will have on appropriate gym clothes. He will wear athletic gym shorts, with a tank top that is playable in. Basketball shoes would have to be mandatory, for grip on the court and best performance. The actor may wear compression tights, depending on the conditions.
