          Production Blog: Final Task

Before spring break begins I am making sure to account for everything that this production will need to succeed. I have looked at the locations outside where some scenes will be taking place. The field, which some scenes will be, has a lot of litter and that’ll only take some clean up to be suitable. The basketball court on the other hand is damaged to say the least. The hoop itself is non operational. The environment might be impactful to the overall message of what the film would be about. That’s for another time though, since this is just an opening sequence. If the field continues to be amassed with litter though I will substitute the field with another one not so far from the original. The court scenes will just have to be executed with some finesse on my part in editing. My actor will be not be able to film for the first few days of spring break. Good to know now before I have to change scheduling again. So after Wednesday we’ll begin filming again. The 25th and 26th are my ideal dates, Hopefully this’ll take just two more days and then editing can happen soon after. Only time will tell however. Spending some of my spring break doing work for class would be a problem for most people. With this class however I have no problem with doing work during the break. You can see below that the hoop previously mentioned, really needs some work. The court itself is unconventional but still has its uses when the hoop of course is actually operational.

I started the opening of the play with a gradual opening to create a bit of suspense but, also to give the audience some time to get ready. The added track shot also adds a feel of the audience being their walking with jack, it's overall more intimate. Then after the track shot, there is a fast shot of the play and or movie getting straight to the point. (starting the show) The black screen transition is untimely to show the audience that one scene has ended and that was moving on to something else. This helps with older audience viewers as well guiding them to the next scene. The close-up shots added also add drama with it being a shot that happens out of nowhere. Also, the back and forth shots of jack's pacing add suspense as well to over exaggerate the feeling that's taking place.                                                  Research Blog: Soft (2007)               Soft (2007) is a tense short film drama directed by Simon Ellis. The film is fifteen minutes long and depicts the terrorizing of a father and son by neighborhood teens. Throughout the film we see the emotions of the characters. The father remains visibly scared of the young teens but the son remains angry. The director uses close ups to give the audience a better understanding of the characters emotions. The conflict of the film is that while they are being terrorized the father doesn’t want to retaliate because of his fear and tries to keep the son from doing anything. Planning for my Spalding Basketball commercial

                                                           Planning Blog  Props   There won't really be too much if any props in the commercial. Costumes   In the commercial, the actor(s) will have on appropriate gym clothes. He will wear athletic gym shorts, with a tank top that is playable in. Basketball shoes would have to be mandatory, for grip on the court and best performance. The actor may wear compression tights, depending on the conditions.
