Planning for my Spalding Basketball commercial
Planning Blog
Props
There won't really be too much if any props in the commercial.
Costumes
In the commercial, the actor(s) will have on appropriate gym clothes. He will wear athletic gym shorts, with a tank top that is playable in. Basketball shoes would have to be mandatory, for grip on the court and best performance. The actor may wear compression tights, depending on the conditions.
Schedule
On 10/22/2020, I will research conventions of basketball commercials.
On 10/23/2020, I will create the storyboard for the 1 minute commercial.
On 10/24/2020, I will agree and establish with the actor on the location, props, costumes, schedule and the backup plan if needed.
On 10/25/2020, I will film the commercial taking from it the necessary shots.
On 10/28/2020, I will make the necessary edits and have the final commercial product.
Location
Our primary location, will be an indoor court, like L.A. Fitness, having enough space and basketball hoops. Will be properly ventilated, with an actual basketball court viewing the commercial will have an actual professional feeling. The sounds of others in the court also playing can make the commercial realistic.
Backup Plan
If we can not access the gym at the time, then an outdoor court will be the location of filming, in Lauderdale Lakes. These courts are double rimmed, making shots harder to make. With this condition, filming may take longer than expected. Conditions will most likely be cloudy and have signs of lightning. If the actor, for any reason, can't make it to the location, I will step in for him. I will have the proper attire to change into. I most likely would have been in it due to the new conditions and wanting to finish the film in a timely manner.
