Introduction to the Music Video Project

                                                                         Intro Blog 

        For my upcoming music video, I will be working alone. I would work with others, but doing things on my own is really how I do things. I don't want to have to rely on other people and have any conflicts occur in the process of getting the video done. Although, there is one person I would work with, but even he elected to work by himself for the music video. The song I will be doing for the music video is the radio edit version of "Got it on me" by Pop Smoke. You might be asking, "Why this song?" The backstory behind it is actually intricate. Well this year the rapper, Pop Smoke, was killed in his rented home. While he died earlier in the year, he still released an album. His posthumous album had some of the best songs in 2020 in my opinion and kept me company during the quarantine portion of the pandemic. It's tragic how he did not get to see the success of his album. With no school or contact with anyone other than my family, his album was some of the things we actually enjoyed in each others' company. So I would like to honor his memory by making this music video with one of the songs from his album.  He brought enjoyment to us, so I would like to bring enjoyment to others with his song. Bringing some actual visual representation to it would be great, because most of his music videos were limited due to his death. I already have an idea on how to do the video.  I'd like to include some of the family that I went through quarantine with in the video. It would only be right to do so. Below is a pic of the late rapper's cover art for his album. Rest in Peace.

Comparing 9, the short, and 9, the full length movie

Watching the extract I had many different feelings towards it. I felt it was a bit boring at first due to no sound/ audio. Also, the action came around a bit longer than expected. The plot started off with some robots looking for something. That happened to be a light bulb, eventually, something that was lurking in the shadow popped out. But during the mystery of what was lurking definitely struck excitement in what was going to happen next. There were many special effects seeing that it was a more futuristic movie with robots. So very cool camera effects or CGI. The full-length film was meatier in all the different things it explained that I was confused about in the short film. The moral of the story gave the full story to what was going on. The plot development was a bit longer than the short film because they had to show the back story.                                                  Research Blog: Soft (2007)               Soft (2007) is a tense short film drama directed by Simon Ellis. The film is fifteen minutes long and depicts the terrorizing of a father and son by neighborhood teens. Throughout the film we see the emotions of the characters. The father remains visibly scared of the young teens but the son remains angry. The director uses close ups to give the audience a better understanding of the characters emotions. The conflict of the film is that while they are being terrorized the father doesn’t want to retaliate because of his fear and tries to keep the son from doing anything.
