My Pitch

                                                                        My Pitch

I have two pitches for you. My first being a dramatic film set in the modern day setting. The main character is a normal joe who gets roped into a conspiracy after a bystander seemingly "runs" into the path of his car. Through all the chaos of trying to get him some help, he notices that there are some suspicious types not far from the scene. After being cleared of all blame, he can't stop thinking about it and looks up who he ran over and lo and behold, the victim was apart of a cult of some sort in town. He begins to become recruited by the cult, with excess fliers and mail being addressed to him. He becomes intrigued by the cult and visits them and their charismatic leader not realizing the horror he was setting himself up for. I'd like to make this film because of the potential it could have, a blockbuster if directed and cast right.

My second pitch is a dramedy about the lives of two cousins who love two different sports but you realize that they're extremely close due to their environment making them stick together. The basketball player, sometimes strays toward the life of the neighborhood but never too far. The football player, who tries to stay on top of everything realizes a lot is crashing around him. He can't be the glue for everything and has to make choices throughout the movie. He'd rather lose friends than lose focus on his goals. I'd love to make this movie because the plot seems close to my life. It doesn't need too big of a cast or budget to make, and it's potential to represent the current community is high.

While I would like to do both, I can only do one. For my final task I'm going to be doing the second pitch of two athlete cousins who can't be separated even through everything that their community throws at them. Out of the two options, it was the more appropriate for the assignment and ultimately the best decision. This reminds me of those pitch meeting videos on Screen Rant. It's fun coming up with these pitches and being creative with it.
