 - What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? 

The production and distribution company is displayed first. The title of the movie, "Juno" The cast then after seems to be in order of importance. The costume designer, who the music and songs are by, and music supervisors. Producers, film editor and production designer. The director of photography. And the writer and director credit.

- What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? 

No images are exactly prioritized in the opening sequence just a going with the flow main character, walking in a cartoon like background.

 - What connotations do these images carry?  


 - How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset? 

It already begins to seem as if the title character is sort of "unjoyous" due to her demeanor as she walks along to her destination. Though the background music and background itself is contradictory with its flinty and upbeat type of feel.

 - What strategies are used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience?  

The cartoon style dominates the opening sequence, suggesting that the target audience is youth . The non-diegetic background song also speaks of growth indirectly while remaining upbeat keeping the audience engaged.

 - How has technology been used effectively? You want to consider camera angles, transitions and editing techniques.

Well the background of the entire opening sequence has been edited to have a cartoon style. The angles in the sequence vary, there is overhead shot, close up, wide, and mid. The sequence also has non-diegetic sound edited in.

I started the opening of the play with a gradual opening to create a bit of suspense but, also to give the audience some time to get ready. The added track shot also adds a feel of the audience being their walking with jack, it's overall more intimate. Then after the track shot, there is a fast shot of the play and or movie getting straight to the point. (starting the show) The black screen transition is untimely to show the audience that one scene has ended and that was moving on to something else. This helps with older audience viewers as well guiding them to the next scene. The close-up shots added also add drama with it being a shot that happens out of nowhere. Also, the back and forth shots of jack's pacing add suspense as well to over exaggerate the feeling that's taking place.                                                  Research Blog: Soft (2007)               Soft (2007) is a tense short film drama directed by Simon Ellis. The film is fifteen minutes long and depicts the terrorizing of a father and son by neighborhood teens. Throughout the film we see the emotions of the characters. The father remains visibly scared of the young teens but the son remains angry. The director uses close ups to give the audience a better understanding of the characters emotions. The conflict of the film is that while they are being terrorized the father doesn’t want to retaliate because of his fear and tries to keep the son from doing anything. Planning for my Spalding Basketball commercial

                                                           Planning Blog  Props   There won't really be too much if any props in the commercial. Costumes   In the commercial, the actor(s) will have on appropriate gym clothes. He will wear athletic gym shorts, with a tank top that is playable in. Basketball shoes would have to be mandatory, for grip on the court and best performance. The actor may wear compression tights, depending on the conditions.
