Genre Choice for short film

 After countless hours of thorough genre research and seeing what each genre brought to the table. With there creativity and action skills of luring the person watching. That certainly lured me and and the rest of the world who have watched. My partner and I choose to go with drama as our genre choice. We feel that since we have never researched it before it would be a great challenge. As well as the drama genre being very entertaining and real. Real, in the sece of putting real life situations on a film everyone can see. This add a relative aspect to our film of everyone feeling included. It was important that everyone got something they needed out of it. This genre is perfect cause it's not only fun. But we're able to use the time we are taking away from the audience and give them something informational. So the time they spend to watch our film won't feel like time wasted but a time where they learned something. Are pitch does not need any tweaking it directly falls under the drama category. I am not going to lie and say that we weren't thinking about doing the other 2 genres we researched. But ultimately it came down to, what can we do with the time given to us by these people ?What can we teach them? Should we educate them? Do we know enough to do so? After we got passed those line of questioning we made sure to go with our gut and do what we felt lured us in. Onward to an adventurous journey on creating a film.

I started the opening of the play with a gradual opening to create a bit of suspense but, also to give the audience some time to get ready. The added track shot also adds a feel of the audience being their walking with jack, it's overall more intimate. Then after the track shot, there is a fast shot of the play and or movie getting straight to the point. (starting the show) The black screen transition is untimely to show the audience that one scene has ended and that was moving on to something else. This helps with older audience viewers as well guiding them to the next scene. The close-up shots added also add drama with it being a shot that happens out of nowhere. Also, the back and forth shots of jack's pacing add suspense as well to over exaggerate the feeling that's taking place.                                                  Research Blog: Soft (2007)               Soft (2007) is a tense short film drama directed by Simon Ellis. The film is fifteen minutes long and depicts the terrorizing of a father and son by neighborhood teens. Throughout the film we see the emotions of the characters. The father remains visibly scared of the young teens but the son remains angry. The director uses close ups to give the audience a better understanding of the characters emotions. The conflict of the film is that while they are being terrorized the father doesn’t want to retaliate because of his fear and tries to keep the son from doing anything. Planning for my Spalding Basketball commercial

                                                           Planning Blog  Props   There won't really be too much if any props in the commercial. Costumes   In the commercial, the actor(s) will have on appropriate gym clothes. He will wear athletic gym shorts, with a tank top that is playable in. Basketball shoes would have to be mandatory, for grip on the court and best performance. The actor may wear compression tights, depending on the conditions.
